Speed Test

Hi - just upgraded to Rogers Ignite (500 Mbps)- while testing on Speedtest.Net and on Fast.com (as recommended by Rogers) getting two very different results. Checked both wired and wireless. Can someone explain which is the one to trust? Or other suggestions.

On wired - my cable is Cat - 5e.

Best Settings For Asus RT-AC86U?

I have 3 86U's, 1 is my main router the other 2 are AiMesh nodes. I am consistently getting WIFI drops and wondering what I can do to fix this? I have everything set to default so I haven't played with much of the options like Airtime and Beamforming and such. Some stuff is hardwired through all 3 of the 86U's, and they seem to be just fine. It's the stuff on WIFI that is having issues

Any advice?

What's the best router in terms of range for under $100? I'm looking for something that is better than the POS Rogers (CGN3ASMR) router, and can at least provide 5Ghz signal strength across two floors of a house that's around 2000sq. ft. Is this even possible for the price point I'm looking at?

Solved - Windows 7 Pro desktop can't detect DVD drive

My desktop can't detect DVD drive. I have this drive since day 1, it was detected before. In BIOS it is seen and indicated. However, in Windows 7, I don't see in Windows Explorer. Is there a way to get it back with without re-install W7. Thanks.

Need to replace my 250GB M.2 NVMe SSD on my Lenovo X1 Carbon Gen 6

Is that any reason why Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 NVMe is cheaper than 970 EVO
I thought 970 EVO PLUS is a newer product and has better performance

Or what else would you recommend?

Hi. Looking for suggestions on what to get for a PC video card for a new build PC. I missed out on all the recent ~$150 RX 570 deals and can't find anything similar for a decent price. Not a gamer (although I may try out a game or two once I get a video card), nor do I plan on mining for crypto-currencies.

I have no preference when it comes to Nvidia vs. AMD, and I'm clueless with all the choices and models available out there.

Any suggestions?

CentOS users - removing eth1

Long story, I have a linux Centos 6.10 VM under esxi which was moved from one server to another because of decommission (test environment). It was functioning under eth0 and when I migrated, it decided to take eth1 and obtain a DHCP IP. I went under vmware, deleted all the NIC and decided to use the VMXNET3 NIC instead of the e1000 which was the original (i kept reading vmx is better and it seems like its because it can do 10gbe).

Now eth0 is back with the original config operating normally under my routing rules BUT eth1 is still present. I have disabled it on boot but I know it still exists, so how do I go about completely removing eth1? Linux n00b here so bare with my linux skills.

Excel =sum( ) formula problem

Excel 2019.

The $272.47 comes from =sum(a1:a7). But for some reason, a1 doesn't get included in the formula so the $272.47 is wrong.

If I do a =sum(a1), I get a $0.

Anyone know why? I copied row 1 from a spreadsheet. I copied row 2-7 from another spreadsheet.

Inverter will not power air pump?

The air pump works fine when connected to a wall outlet at home. I've already verified that the inverted works (I plugged my Samsung wireless charging pad to it).

But the inverter will not power up my air pump. Too little power coming out from the inverter for the air pump?

So I just watched a few of the unboxing videos for the ASUS Zenfone 6. I thought it looked pretty amazing. What is everyone's thoughts on the Zenfone6? and how is it compare to the Oneplus 7 PRO? I thought the OP7P was a bit expensive and it looks like the Zenfone is going to be slightly if not more cheaper. Best iPhone replacement battery?

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good replacement battery for an iPhone 6s?

My battery keeps dying now and I rather replace the battery with a solid aftermarket or even OEM than buy a new phone. I am hesitant to just buy any random battery off of eBay or Amazon because there's a lot of junk batteries on these sites.

I was considering buying one from iFixit. Can anyone recommend a good battery brand? Is iFixit good? Thank you.

X900F vs LG C8

I watch mostly cable TV (a lot of sports)...so am I right to think that the X900F (2000$) will serve me better than a C8 (2700-3000$) ?
I read that the LG OLED TVs suck for sport (i'm coming from a Plasma which I'll miss)...and their upscaling is not as good as the sony.
