I am in Markham and my TekSavvy cable service was out for close to 24 hours (11/22 mid day to 11/23 Friday mid day). I can't order any black Friday online deal that was hot. The response from technical support was they are working hard with their provider to solve the problem. I know that their provider is Rogers (for my home). I had another long outage (again close to 24 hours) a few months back. This make me think if my switch from Rogers to TekSavvy was a good decision. I am not sure if the outage is actually a Rogers problem or a TekSavvy problem. If it is a Rogers problem what's the insentive for them to fix it fast for their competitor (just my personal opinion).
