Hi guys, looking for some help since Google only steered me towards a partial match and no solution to my issue.
Below is the stupid band/error I get when trying to open any file located on a network share.

It only gives me the option to make available offline, or cancel, both of which do nothing, and I cannot open the file. I have also tried right clicking and "open" or even "open with".
Any ideas on a fix? I understand that since I installed 8 from disc I'd have to reinstall to get rid of 8.1 as it cannot be uninstalled.
