I've been reading a lot about VOIP.MS but still had some questions about how it works. The wiki they have isn't very user friendly to those not familiar with VOIP. I'm a complete VOIP newbie.
I currently have a regular land line with teksavvy and was wondering the following:
- Can I Port my landline phone number over? I believe I can, but I pay a one time fee of $10 and they charge $.99/month
- Can I use existing landline phone (which has 3 handsets)?
- When they say DID, that just means that I have an actual number for people to call? So once I port my number over, there's no difference to someone trying to call me.
- The cost to call within Canada is really $0.005/min!
- The cost to call Hong Kong (from Toronto) is really $0.0097/min!!!
I think I have an idea of the response, but figured I'd double check before signing up.
