Advise : How to watch movies from usb ?

Hi ... I have a Sony Bravia flat panel TV . It has a usb port and 3 HDMI ports . I have many different movies formats on my PC . I'm curious as to how I can play these movies onto my TV by the ports I mentions . How can I go about doing so .

PS I was told to play movies on my TV the formay must be MPEG 1 or 2 but my movies are everything but .
