Want to move to Teksavvy, will the SB6121 from Amazon work out of the box?

Will purchasing this modem work out of the box? It is supported but not sure what the firmware is upon purchase.

How about the Thomson DCM 476 coming straight from Teksavvy, good enough to save hassle from buying in the states?
