Good deal for desktop replacement?

Hi Folks ... I'm looking for feedback on the following system:

Acer Aspire V3 Series 15.6" Laptop - Silver (Intel Core i7-3632QM/ 750GB HDD/ 8GB RAM/ Windows 8)

Not great that it only has 1 USB 3.0 and 1366 x 768 display, but I can get an external monitor if needed.

Most demanding task would be occasional photo editing and family video editing (several times a year); otherwise standard browsing, email, office/document processing, etc.

I think the laptop is capable, but is it a good deal or any thing to watch out for?
