I'm not really knowledgeable about website design. I'm looking for a sandbox which provides some templates for a website -- but is customizable enough that it doesn't look like a bazillion wordpress blogs out there. The site is not a blog, it is the main site for a medium-sized non-profit organization. The current site looks like something out of 1998. So would like to have an update.
Basically there is a news section, picture gallery, an events calendar, an about us section, a membership section, a legal section, and a section with links to other sites.
I'd like it to have a main large picture on the main page, which is clickable and has a story, but cycles through 5 clickable photos/stories automatically every 5 seconds or so.

The colour scheme at the Julliard website is really not what I would have in mind, but the way the main picture changes by itself and is clickable -- this is what I would want on the site.
Are there some templates available that look like that, where I can just fix the colours, add my own content and publish the thing?
