Wireless Printers IP conflicts, loses connection

I have 2 wireless printers, an HP color inkjet and a Canon B/W laser. I sometimes see 'IP conflict' on the displays, and sometimes it prints and sometimes it does not. After a period of inactivity, they appear to lose connection all together, forcing a printer restart, reinitialize the wireless connection, etc...

For anyone who has this issue, with or without more than 1 wireless printer, does creating a unique static (local) IP for each printer solve this issue? That's what I'm now considering...
