Crossing the US boarder with movie collection

I recently ripped my DVD movie collection to portable hard drive for convenience, now I'm thinking of taking the drive to a U.S. destination. How likely of an issue will this be at customs, do they look at all digital data now, should I just forgot the idea? I have accommodation in Florida, and routinely visit from Canada.
