How much do you think a ultrabook with touchscreen should really cost? Within what range?
I've decided on an X1 Carbon Touch from Lenovo and with taxes in will cost a little less than $1400 ($1286 something or other).
It has an i7 (not really needed) but 8 gb ram (needed for those VM's). Not sure if the 128 SSD is a must have.
I just didn't expect this much and was thinking I'd spend $1100 ($999 plus tax?). But the touchscreen seems to add to the price and the I prefer a touch point as touchpads piss me off when typing.... (hence Lenovo - Plus my W510 has been solid)
What does everyone think?
Just to add some more info:
Needed
- think, light and portable
- touchscreen (as I develop for mobile applications and tablets)
- Windows OS
Primary use:
- Development
- Research and productivity (office, email etc)
(PS
I am a windows developer and have no interest in a Macbook air at the moment. So thanks for the air suggestions but they do not apply to me.)
